We are making a surf movie in Morocco. It’s week four of twelve. What brings us – Andy, Roman, Felix, Judith and me – to this mountains, the desert hundreds of kilometers off the Atlantic Ocean’s coast?
We weren’t absolutely sure if that was a good idea: leave the coast, visit the desert. After all we were here in Morocco to look for waves! But it was tempting and we decided: Well, you just can’t go to Morocco and NOT visit this area. You would miss out an impressive landscape.
So we left Marrakech to the east. The route would take us a little more than 6 hours.
Once we came to the mountains we stopped all the time. The landscape is vast, impressive and when the good light sets in, just before sundown it becomes almost kitsch. So we ended up arriving late at night in Zagora, hours later than expected. At least we get to show you some images of that road trip day through Morocco’s majestic Atlas Mountains! A few photos of hundreds we took that day…
